Our Kangetsu Calligraphy Course is designed for beginners and international participants to enjoy and learn the charm of traditional Japanese culture and calligraphy.

What You’ll Learn:
Introduction to Calligraphy and Its History Learn about the history, cultural background, and fundamental concepts of calligraphy, as well as its connection to Japanese traditions.
Explanation of Calligraphy Tools Understand how to use and care for essential tools, such as brushes, ink sticks, inkstones, and paper.
Proper Brush Handling Receive detailed instruction on how to hold the brush correctly and adjust brush pressure.
Grinding Ink and Preparing for Calligraphy Experience the meditative process of grinding ink and preparing for your work while enjoying the soothing scent of the ink.
Basic Brush Techniques Practice essential brushwork techniques, such as drawing lines, strokes, and "dots" or "sweeps," while mastering the basics of Japanese calligraphy.
Writing Basic Kanji Characters Learn to write simple kanji characters while focusing on vertical and horizontal balance and letter placement.
