★ Ryuurei-Style Tea Ceremony Experience Enjoy the elegance of a tea ceremony. Why not join a tea ceremony experience and immerse yourself in Japan's traditional culture in a private setting? This experience takes place on the second floor of a small 100-year-old machiya located in the Ninenzaka Scenic Preservation District. The "Ryuurei Style" tea ceremony, conducted while seated on chairs, allows even those uncomfortable with sitting in the traditional seiza posture to participate with ease. This style was developed during the Meiji era for the Kyoto World Expo.
★ Experience Details Sessions are held upon request to suit your schedule. During the experience, you can enjoy learning about the history of tea, an explanation of tea ceremonies, and a tea-making demonstration. You will also have the opportunity to make tea yourself. We provide support in Japanese, English, Chinese, Russian, Ukrainian, and French. (For languages other than Japanese and English, please contact us in advance.)

Kimono is not included. You are free to take pictures during the lesson. Please refrain from videotaping during the instructor's demonstration. Please wear socks or bring your own. If you come barefoot, socks can be purchased for an additional fee. During the busy seasons of New Year's holidays, spring break, summer break, and fall, we will change to the busy season fee. Please understand this beforehand. Class time is approximately 1 hour.
